After another hugely successful and fun show last year, Japan's undisputedly best Funk band are back in Bremen for the third time. 60s Funk is their game and commitment and the eight people strong band Osaka Monaurail are finally back on tour in Europe. Listen to any of their seven long players and you might think you hear James Brown and The JB's. Featuring a complete horn section (trombone, trumpet, saxophone), two guitars, bass, drums, Hammond and vocals, they appear complete in uniform - as their idols - and definitely tear the roof of each venue!

Two of their 45s appeared on Our Label Records and ever since their first encounter with Urban Jazz Groove DJ Gu, band leader Ryo Nakata and fellow musicians have a very special relationship with Bremen and the Our Label Records brothers. If you had the pleasure of being present at their shows in 2008 and 2007, you know of their extremely tight set and highest quality musical talents - and of course you have secured your ticket already.
2008 they played the longest set in their band history in Bremen, with far over two hours. Clear evidence of how impressed they were with the crowd there. More than 16 years Osaka Monaurail live and celebrate the sound of the 60s and the continued work on records and show details guarantee a very special event this year.

Their Funk which has many influences and is well loved not only by hard core Funksters but Hip Hop and Jazz fans alike, The Whitefield Brothers are an absolute LIVE highlight of 2009.

They are a project of the Munich Funk heroes Poets Of Rhythm and specialise on raw funk with extensive, global influences. On their 2002 album "In The Raw" listeners are taken on a journey into the 60s and 70s with musical elements and instruments from the Afro Funk like Fela Kuti or Mulatu Astatke. Another inspiration was clearly Jazz icon Sun-Ra. Under the large umbrella "Funk" they are joined on their forthcoming albm "Earthology" by range of guests from Jazz to Hip Hop, from psychedelic to Funk. Amongst them are rapper MED, Edan, Percee P or Mr. Lif and musicians like the Dap Kinds and E Michels Afair as well as singer Bajika.

Join us in Bremen and get swept away by this extraordinary show with musical elements from Ethiopia, USA and South America. The Whitefield Brothers are performing world music in its very sense, BUT far differently from the dusty clichés and with a precision and dedication which will make this a night to remember.
