The Tokyo Experience

Still suffering from jet-lag I want to share my meeting with Ryo from Osaka Monaurail. What a trip !! I have just returned from a trip to Tokyo and must say, it blew my mind. The entire journey was a life experience but here I shall concentrate on label related news.
I met Ryo Nakata in Tokyo two weeks ago in the lobby of my hotel, the Tokyo Business Hotel (no affiliation to a the pop band of similar name...). A brand new instrumental album is currently in the works and should be in shops by summer. Despite being in the studio pretty much day and night to finish the mix, Ryo took the time to meet me in the hotel. We chatted until 4 in the morning and I am grateful for having met him in his home turf.

Obviously, I was on the lookout for Japanese funk and am happy to announce that disk union tried hard to find the respecitve music but it seems that the Our Label Records release of Osaka Monaurail's "We Got One (A Show)" is the only Japanese funk available in Tokyo :)
